Triopo KQ85 85cm Quick-Setup Lantern Softbox with Bowens Mount

Broad, soft illumination for photography and video

The Triopo KQ85 Lantern Softbox is an 85cm spherical lighting modifier designed to create broad, soft, and natural-looking illumination for photography, filmmaking, interviews, livestreaming, and studio video production.

Unlike a conventional directional softbox, its lantern shape spreads light across a much wider area. This helps illuminate subjects and surrounding spaces simultaneously, making the KQ85 useful for ambient fill, overhead lighting, group scenes, and productions requiring a soft wraparound effect.

85cm spherical diffusion surface

The large 85cm diffusion surface softens direct light from a compatible LED fixture or studio flash. It reduces harsh highlights and creates smoother shadow transitions across faces, products, and interior spaces.

Its broad light spread can help produce natural-looking illumination for talking-head videos, portraits, podcasts, interviews, and cinematic scenes. The final softness and coverage depend on the connected light, its position, output level, and distance from the subject.

Quick-opening collapsible structure

A collapsible quick-setup mechanism allows the lantern softbox to be opened and folded without assembling individual rods for every session. This reduces preparation time in studios and on-location productions.

Once folded, the KQ85 can be stored in its carrying bag for easier transport between shoots.

Bowens mount compatibility

The integrated Bowens mount attaches to compatible COB LED lights, continuous-light fixtures, and studio strobes. This commonly used mount makes the KQ85 suitable for a wide range of photography and video-lighting systems.

Before installation, verify that the light’s Bowens mount and support stand can safely carry an 85cm modifier. Using a suitable light stand and sandbag is recommended, particularly for raised or overhead setups.

Flexible studio and filmmaking applications

The KQ85 can be positioned as an overhead source to illuminate a table, group, or room, or placed closer to a subject for soft portrait and interview lighting.

An optional compatible light-control skirt may help limit spill and direct the illumination toward a selected area. The skirt is not included and compatibility should be verified separately.
